Submissions are free and open to artists and writers everywhere. Use the form below to send us your visual art or writing.

Winter brings short days and long nights, and the lights we keep on through them. Show us what glows for you: a porch light left on, a candle in a window, a face across the table, whatever keeps you warm when it gets dark. Take the theme as literally or as loosely as you like.

  • Opens: October 16, 2026
  • Closes: January 15, 2027, 11:59 PM Pacific (7:59 AM UTC on January 16)
  • Notifications by: February 1, 2027
  • Publication: February 28, 2027

Before You Submit

Have these ready before you open the form:

  • Your files: up to 5 pieces in total. JPG, PNG or TIFF for visual art (300 DPI preferred), and PDF or DOCX for writing. Send the largest version of each image you have, because small files can look soft in print.
  • Title, medium, size and year for each piece.
  • Your contact details: name and email are required. Pronouns, location and a website are optional.
  • Optional: a short bio (up to 150 words) and a creator statement (up to 75 words).
  • Original, unpublished work only. No AI-generated work. Work you've shared on your own website or social media still counts as unpublished. We can't take work that has already appeared in a magazine, journal or anthology.
  • Writing in another language? Send an English translation of each piece along with the original. If someone else translated it, include their name so we can credit them.
  • Under 18? A parent or guardian needs to agree to the terms. The form asks for their name and email.

Contributors are paid.

Issue 4 offers a $500 honorarium pool: $50 for the cover artist, plus $450 split equally among all accepted contributors, the cover artist included. We collect payment details after acceptance, not when you submit.
